Why split a PDF?

Large PDFs are slow to load and hard to share. Splitting lets you extract only the pages you need — ideal for contracts, reports, or books where you only need a specific section.

TurboConvert uses pdf-lib to split your PDF client-side. No upload, no file size limit imposed by a server.

When to split a PDF

Splitting a PDF is useful when you need to extract specific pages from a larger document, separate a combined file into its component sections, reduce file size by removing unnecessary pages before sharing, or extract a single page to attach to an email.

Common use cases include extracting a specific contract page for signature, pulling out selected slides from a large presentation PDF, or separating a combined bank statement into individual monthly files.

Split by page range or extract individual pages

TurboConvert lets you specify exactly which pages to extract — enter a single page number, a range (e.g. 3–7), or multiple ranges. The output is a new PDF containing only the pages you specified, in the original order. The source PDF is not modified.

Splitting large PDFs

For very large PDFs (50+ pages), splitting is also useful for reducing file size. If you have a 100-page report but only need to share pages 10–25, extracting those 15 pages produces a much smaller file than compressing the full document. Combine splitting with the Compress PDF tool for the smallest possible output.

Frequently asked questions

Can I extract just one page from a PDF?

Yes — enter a single page number to extract just that page as a new PDF. You can also extract multiple non-consecutive pages by specifying them individually.

Does splitting a PDF reduce quality?

No. Splitting extracts pages exactly as they are — no re-encoding, no compression, no quality loss. The extracted pages are bit-for-bit identical to the originals.

Is there a page limit for splitting?

No page limit. TurboConvert can split PDFs of any length, up to 100 MB in total file size.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server when I split them?

No. The entire process runs in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded or sent to any external server.

Can I split a PDF into individual pages automatically?

Yes — select the option to split into individual pages and TurboConvert will generate one PDF per page automatically, packaged as a ZIP download.
